SPECIAL POLITICAL AND DECOLONIZATION COMMITTEE (SPECPOL)

SPECPOL is the Fourth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, it tackles a wide range of political issues focused around decolonization, peacekeeping efforts, and peaceful uses of outer space.

CHAIR BIO

Hi! I’m Nour Al Alfi, Chair of SPECPOL, and this is my 4th CACMUN conference. I began my MUN journey as a delegate in ECOSOC during ninth and tenth grade, later serving in the Security Council in eleventh grade. Over the years, MUN has helped me grow as a speaker and a leader, and I’m so excited to now be chairing SPECPOL. I can’t wait to see all the delegates engage in thoughtful, dynamic debate and make this conference an unforgettable experience for everyone!

DEPUTY CHAIR BIO

Hi! My name is Adam Hamouda, and I’m a Grade 11 student serving as the Chair of the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL). I’ve attended six MUN conferences so far, each one deepening my passion for debate, diplomacy, and global issues. I love helping delegates feel confident and engaged during sessions, and I’m always excited to hear fresh perspectives on complex topics. I’m really looking forward to an amazing conference filled with collaboration, learning, and fun discussions!

DEPUTY CHAIR BIO

Hi my name is Teymour El Nazer and I’m a Grade 12 student serving as a deputy chair of the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL). I’ve attended 5 MUN conferences so far, and with each one I learn and engage in the conference more than the last. I became a chair because I truly enjoy teaching and helping others . I also enjoy improving my MUN skills and discussing different topics. I am looking forward to an enjoyable conference filled with excitement and learning as well as teaching new delegates how to adapt and learn MUN protocol.
