MEET THE CACMUN47 SECRETARIAT

Secretary-General
Layla El-Khazindar
I still remember walking into CACMUN 44 in ninth grade, completely unsure of what to expect. I had no idea how MUN worked and barely understood the structure of debate. My first memory was nervously raising a POI as a judge in the ICJ during the Russia v. Ukraine case.

Since then, MUN has become one of the most important parts of my high school journey. I have attended ten conferences, taken on roles as a delegate, chaired committees, and served on the CACMUN Secretariat as Assistant Deputy Secretary-General. Through every experience, I have developed not just as a speaker, but as a critical thinker, collaborator, and leader. As Secretary-General of CACMUN 47, my goal is to create a space where delegates can discover that same confidence and clarity. The future of global leadership begins here, and I cannot wait to see it unfold.

Deputy Secretary-General of External Communications
Nadine El-Banna
I’m Nadine El Banna, your External Coordination lead for CACMUN 47. I reach out to schools, guide delegations from “hello” to “see you at closing,” and run our web/social comms so you always know what’s next. I’m big on clarity, kind reminders, and making information feel human. What lights me up? Seeing a nervous delegate grow bold over three days—and the quiet magic of a conference that just works.
Off-duty, I’m usually discovering new matcha spots, organizing life on a very color-coded Notion board, and chasing good design wherever I find it. I care about creating an inclusive, welcoming vibe where preparation meets excitement. I can’t wait to meet you all, swap ideas, and cheer on the debates that make CACMUN unforgettable.

Deputy Secretary-General of Operations and Conference Management
Mourad Zaki
Hi everyone! My name is Mourad Zaki, and I have the pleasure of serving as the Deputy Secretary-General of Operations and Conference Management for CACMUN 47. Over the past few years, MUN has become one of the most meaningful parts of my time at CAC, and stepping into this role has given me the opportunity to contribute in a completely new way.
As DSG of Operations, I have been responsible for making sure the logistical side of the conference is as organized and efficient as possible. That includes everything from room setups and inventory checks to printing coordination, vendor communication, and managing the overall conference schedule.
Working alongside such a dedicated team has been a highlight of my senior year, and I truly cannot wait to see everything come together next weekend. I am looking forward to welcoming you all to CACMUN 47, and I hope it will be an unforgettable experience for every delegate, chair, and participant.

Deputy Secretary-General of Academics
Marwan El Nadi
Hi everyone! My name is Marwan Elnadi, and I’m truly honored to serve as the Deputy Secretary-General of Academics for this year’s conference. Over the past few years, MUN has become one of the most defining parts of my school experience. I’ve had the opportunity to participate as both a delegate and a chair, and through those experiences.

As DSG of Academics, my role is to ensure that every committee runs smoothly from an academic perspective. I’m incredibly excited to see all the effort, research, and diplomacy that delegates bring to this conference. I have no doubt that this will be an unforgettable experience filled with meaningful discussions, new friendships, and a true spirit of international cooperation

Deputy Secretary-General of Academics
Omar Galal
Hi, my name is Omar Galal. I began my MUN journey as a delegate, later serving as a main chair before becoming Deputy Secretary-General of Academics. In my role, I oversee delegate preparation, chair training, and the academic quality of all committees to ensure every participant gains a valuable and insightful experience. Having attended THIMUN, HIAMUN, CACMUN, and many other international and regional conferences, I have learned how powerful diplomacy and collaboration can be in shaping global solutions.
What drives me most as DSG of Academics is the opportunity to empower others by helping delegates find their voices, improve their arguments, and develop confidence in their ideas. I believe MUN is not just about debating; it is about cultivating empathy, perspective, and the ability to understand diverse viewpoints. I am incredibly excited to help lead this year’s conference, ensuring an engaging, academically rigorous, and memorable experience for every participant while upholding the excellence and tradition of CACMUN
